Boo Obama- and Boo McCain....I don't like either of them.

"John McCain and Barack Obama were walking down the street and came to
a homeless person.

John McCain, gave him his business card and told him to
come to his office for a job. He then took $20 out of his pocket and
gave it to the homeless person.

Obama was impressed, so when they came to another homeless person, he
stepped forward to help. He gave him directions to the welfare office,
then reached into McCain's pocket and got out another $20. He kept $15
for administrative costs and gave the homeless person $5."

In this little scenario, obviously written by a McCain supporter, but still very close to truth- the fact is- both throw money at the homeless person, but do either of them actually acknowledge the fact that he is homeless?

I've always been so excited to turn 18 and vote. This is my first presidential election that I am able to vote in. It's pretty sad that I don't want to vote because I can't agree even 50% with either opponent. I will say that because the whole house is democratic right now, I don't think that we should have a democratic president as well. I didn't think it was right when the whole house was republican and we had a republican president either. Checks and balances.

I'm not very political. I do not enjoy political debates. When people write about politics, I read them, and take them for what they are worth, but never do I comment, because they are so free to their opinions, and that's cool. I don't like when people try to convert me either religiously or politically, because I am not an idiot. I read the candidates political sites, and I take what I take from them. I watch the debates, but not the news. I think the media is too corrupt, so I am not a huge fan of it, but I take what I take from the debates and the websites. My views are just as valid as anyone's.

.... This is probably the only "political" post I will ever write. I hate that I don't want to vote in this election. I hate even more that I probably will vote. I will vote for someone that I don't agree with. And I really hate that. In truth, I am sad that Ron Paul didn't make it through...

I'm not excited about voting, either because I also think its the lesser of two evils situation. I do agree with more on one side, but i'm voting strictly platform. I don't like them personally. I don't like their way, the lies, etc. I also don't think their websites are good resources, however. They write those up themselves and they are big commercials for themselves. I do watch the news, and watch/listen to all channels, including BBC and NPR. You cannot really get completely unbiased news, but these days that is damn near impossible to find. Hearing both sides, kinda gives you some indication. I was THRILLED when i turned 18 and luckily, that year we had a kick ass election that welcomed a great time in American History, economically and socially. I campaigned, went to rallies, etc. It was a great time! If i were a young person, I'd probably like Obama a whole lot more. Given that I'm a democrat, I'm voting for him (today actually) but like you, I'm not happy about it. I just really really really don't want to see more of the same. I am sick of this republican reign that has us all in the toilet. I think its hilarious that this old dude with almost 30 years in the 'system' says he is bringing change! :) If he wanted to change, he could have done it ages ago. He says he knows how to get Bin Laden and how to End the war peacefully. I'm curious why he's sitting on all this valuable information! LMFAO. If he had this info, and shared it, and any of it WORKED! I know he'd be winning inthe polls and this election would be NO CONTEST. It's all hot air! Sick of it! SO GLAD ITS ALMOST OVER!!!! Hillary was my gal. More moderate and highly qualified. Palin scares me! I hate stupid ppl! :) Hope you vote lady!

This is the first election I've actually been excited about. Both of the previous elections I've been able to vote for, I haven't been at all excited about the democratic candidate, just very anti-Bush. I think a lot of the time we vote for the lesser evil rather than because we actually like someone.

I am inspired by Obama, I think he has a chance to be pretty great. One reason I hope he wins is that I'd like to see him come through with his promises, see if he really does turn out to be the next JFK or if he'll just be another disappointing politician. It feels like we could be in a very special moment in history, and I'd like to see that played out.

The interesting thing is, I wouldn't really have a problem with McCain winning, either, or at least I didn't until he picked Palin as his running mate. That decision, along with other things he's done recently (and things like being all over the map as far as where he stands on issues, depending on where he's speaking), makes me question his judgement and whether I'd want him as a leader.

I don't think anyone ever agrees 100% with any candidate. If we are at the point where we are voting for a person, that person has been in the political system for a while. A politician is a politician - to be successful as a politician, they have to play the game. The rules of the game make us dislike them.

Pick one or two issues you care strongly about. Vote based on those. You won't agree with everything that person says or does, but at least you'll agree with the issue(s) that are most important to you.

Either way, GO VOTE. Especially for the local positions.
